How to get to Košice

By plane

Košice International Airport is located south of the city. Regular direct flights are available from Warsaw, Vienna, Prague, London-Stansted and Liverpool. Bus number 23 connects the airport with the city center. Timetable can be found here and fares can be found here. Since the intervals between the busses are quite long, we recommend to use Taxi to get from and to Košice international airport.

Taxis leave from outside of the terminal. AirTaxi is an official airport partner with the transfer costs of about 18 €. Additional taxi services are Yellow taxi or Unitaxi which are cheaper (around 10 €), but do not have a taxi standpoint in front of the airport. These taxis have to be ordered by phone, or web. Services provided by Bolt (Formerly Taxify) are available in Košice as well.

Additional nearby airports are Budapest airport and Krakow airport. The shuttle bus service from Budapest airport (CassoviaExpress, EuroBusWays) and Krakow airport (Unibuss) is provided directly to Košice’s city center.

By train

Košice railway station is a rail hub of eastern Slovakia. The city is connected by rail in three directions: to Bratislava and Vienna (Austria), Prague (Czech Republic), Dresden (Germany), and Budapest and Miskolc (Hungary). The railway station is located east of the city center, approximately 10 minutes of walk. The public transport and taxi standpoint are available on the square in front of the railway station.

By bus

Košice bus terminal is located next to the railway station. There are direct international bus connections to Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Hungary and several other European countries.

By car

Košice is connected by highways in two directions: Miskolc – Budapest and Vienna (Bratislava) – Prague. The highways in Slovakia are paid and the electronic vignette has to be bought here.
