Abstracts Submission Guidelines

All abstracts must be submitted exclusively through the EMSA 2024 web page. Link will be provided soon.

  • Abstracts received after deadline will not be considered.
  • Abstracts submitted by email or post mail will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts must only be submitted in English.

Please, state in the system who will be the corresponding/presenting author. This person will receive all the notifications. When submitting abstract there will be a field to designate a presenting author.

IMPORTANT: Note that every author may submit and appear as co-author in several abstracts but WILL BE ABLE TO PRESENT ONLY ONE ABSTRACT FOR ONE REGISTRATION FEE.

Presenting authors whose abstract has been accepted must register for the conference. Failure to do so will result in exclusion from the conference program.

Authors are requested to indicate their preference for ORAL or POSTER presentation. However, the final status will be decided by the Scientific Committee.

Abstract Format

Abstract title:
Do not use capital letters and do not indent. The title should reflect the contents and should not exceed 150 characters (15 words).

Author names and affiliations:
Where the family name may be ambiguous (e.g., a double name), please indicate this clearly. Institution, department and location are requested from all authors. Authors' affiliation should include the addresses (where the actual work was done).

Abstract:
Authors are requested to submit two copies of their abstracts, one of them in WORD format and the other one in PDF format. Please adhere to the following naming conventions:

  • Name_Surname_Abstract.docx
  • Name_Surname_Abstract.pdf

Please make sure you check your abstract carefully before sending it. No modifications will be made after submission’s deadline.

Figures:
Please make sure that the resolution of the figure/s (bitmap) is sufficient (at least 300 dpi).

Acknowledgement:
Authors may provide a short acknowledgement (max. ~200 characters).

References:
Unpublished results are not recommended in the reference list but may be mentioned in the text. Personal communications are not allowed in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text where the name and brief address of the person must also be supplied. Citation of a reference as "in press" implies that the item has been accepted for publication. For each reference there should be its DOI included. To format references you may use an online tool available at https://citation.crosscite.org/ with formatting style selected to IEEE.

Web references: 
As a minimum, the full URL should be given. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given. Web references can be listed separately (e.g., after the reference list) under a different heading if desired, or can be included in the reference list.

Corresponding/presenting  author:
Clearly indicate who will handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing and publication (and post-publication).

Contact Information:
Ensure the information provided is correct and make sure contact details (phone number and email) are right for the corresponding / presenting author.

Review, Acceptance & Notification

Abstracts submitted for oral or poster presentation will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee. Once an abstract is accepted, the Committee will decide whether it is to be presented as an ORAL or as a POSTER.
